Hello Omghgomg, I've added some comments at the FLC for Carrie Underwood discography. Hope they're useful. Feel free to get in touch with me should you need anything more. The Rambling Man (talk) 13:32, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. Yes, it's a difficult one when there's a dispute over content, moreover it's arguably worse when it's about presentation as that can be highly subjective. All I can recommend you do right now is to try to get some consensus for what you think the right approach to the article is (I noticed there seemed to be a couple of other editors working on the article) and perhaps speak with User:Drewcifer3000 who seems to be quite experienced with discography articles. Keep the dialogue going with the editor in question, communication is the key. As an admin I can do nothing here until edits either break the WP:3RR or things become heated... sorry! Good luck, let me know if there's anything else I can do. The Rambling Man (talk) 08:04, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I really disagree that you keep changing the formats to fit your style, and don't let others change them since you began to edit. I'm going to hold a vote on format issues on featured list discussion page. again, my main point is on the FORMAT, I won't argue about other charted songs again. for format change, I will include certifications, note under albums, dashes, and the position of the albums on singles and songs (I like left better). again, if you dislike "my way of format", I will continue arguing.

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Celine-andrea-pavrotti.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:17, 25 February 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

If I were you, I'd speak to User:Scorpion0422, he usually closes the FLC's down. Sorry it hasn't worked out for you this time, let me know if you need anything further. The Rambling Man (talk) 09:05, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're very welcome, give me a shout when the dust settles and you want to pursue the FLC again! All the best.. The Rambling Man (talk) 10:58, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Carrie Underwood (Last Name)

[edit]

I had thought that Radio and Records and Billboard were one and the same now. Since "Last Name" is at #46 on Radio and Records, I figure that it would be that on Billboard. The only possible way to find out if "Last Name" is at #46 on Billboard is when Billboard publishes its chart on Thursday on the web and that way we will know if it is that chart number in Billboard. Another possibility is that "Last Name" may have been released early for the country charts and possibly the April 7th release date is for adds on Pop, AC, and other formats. BravesFan2006 (User talk:BravesFan2006|talk) 06:42, CDT, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Do you have the Billboard magazine (the one by subscription) for the chart week of March 29, 2008 at hand? What does it show at #46 on there? Another thing is that on Saturday, CMT puts a news section on what's number one on the Billboard country charts and the debuts that have entered this week. Vote

[edit]

Actually, if you take a look at my posts, I was completely against the idea of a vote, and suggested bringing the discussion (not the vote) to a broader venue, such as WPP:MUSIC. Voting usually doesn't accomplish anything, in my experience. Drewcifer (talk) 17:35, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Carrie Underwood Last Name

[edit]

Just dropping you a note to let you know that R&R merged with Billboard in 2006. Therefore, "Last Name" is currently at #46 on both Billboard and Radio & Records. The country chart posted to R&R's website is exactly the same as the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 17:35, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, keep in mind that Billboard doesn't update until Thursday, while R&R updates on Wednesday. Bravesfan2006 (talk · contribs) and I are getting our info from the R&R chart highlights page, which is here. Every chart position listed on that page is for the R&R chart dated for 3/21, which corresponds exactly to the Billboard chart for 3/29. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 18:13, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
One more comment: R&R didn't merge into Billboard until after Don't Forget to Remember Me hit #1 on the "old" R&R charts (i.e. the chart that's now called Mediabase). I will change that song's footnote to reflect this. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 05:40, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's okay. You're not the first user to get the whole R&R/Billboard/Mediabase thing mixed up. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 05:45, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Carrie Underwood

[edit]

I noticed you edit warring over including "Before He Cheats" in the "Other charted singles" column. Personally, I say leave it out of the "other charted singles", since it went directly from unofficial to official — as opposed to, say, "Every Other Weekend" or "Shiftwork", which charted as an album cut, fell out for a significant amount of time, and then re-entered as a single. Just my opinion. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 03:49, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm just saying that I think (as you apparently do) that "Before He Cheats" shouldn't be in the "other charted singles" field, because it went seamlessly from being an album cut to a single. If it were a case like Shiftwork, which entered as an album cut, fell out, and then re-entered once it became a single, then I'd say list it separately. I was kind of sleepy when I typed that so maybe my word choice wasn't so hot. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 18:30, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Although the song seemlessly become a single from an album cut, it was still once "other charted songs," and we have to put it into separated column. Whether seemlessly or not, IT WAS STILL AN OTHER CHARTED SONG! So I'll change back no matter what. by Langdon (talk) 01:48, 20 April 2008 (UTC)i7114080[reply]
Why don't you file a request for comment on the talk page? That would get the attention of other users and maybe help you settle the dispute. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 02:12, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Content disputes like this don't call for page protection — furthermore, that would be basically using a page protection to gain an advantage. Even though I agree with your side of the issue, I still think that RFC would be the best way to go here. B-sides

[edit]

You've done a great job but I have an issue with removal of b-sides on the Delta Goodrem discography page.

When people visit Wikipedia discography pages, it is expected that a list of the aritst's b-sides will be there. If you're going to get rid of b-sides, you may as well get rid of the "music video" section to. Remember it was you who originally got rid of the seperate b-sides/unreleased page and merged it into this article because you said it was "part of the discography". Now you've got rid of it all together without consulting other users who put time into creating that section. Either have the b-sides on the discography page, or on a seperate page like they originally were before you merged them. Thankyou.

The Night Before (Life Goes On)

I'm considering speedy redirecting The Night Before (Life Goes On) to Some Hearts, as that's the common procedure for non-notable individual tracks. Mind if I do that and close the AfD? Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 20:37, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GA Sweeps invitation

[edit]

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am sending you this message since you are a member of the GA WikiProject. I would like to invite you to consider helping with the GA sweeps process. Sweeps helps to ensure that the oldest GAs still meet the criteria, and improve the quality of GAs overall. Unfortunately, last month only two articles were reviewed. This is definitely a low point after our peak at the beginning of the process when 163 articles were reviewed in September 2007. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. All exempt and previously reviewed articles have already been removed from the list. Instead of reviewing by topic, you can consider picking and choosing whichever articles interest you.

We are always looking for new members to assist with the remaining articles, so if you are interested or know of anybody that can assist, please visit the GA sweeps page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. If only 14 editors achieve this feat starting now, we would be done with Sweeps! Of course, having more people reviewing less articles would be better for all involved, so please consider asking others to help out. Feel free to stop by and only review a few articles, something's better than nothing! Take a look at the list, and see what articles interest you. Let's work to complete Sweeps so that efforts can be fully focused on the backlog at GAN. If you have any questions about the process, reviewing, or need help with a particular article, please contact me or OhanaUnited and we'll be happy to help. --Happy editing! Cannot use Thecorrsworks.jpg in French wikipedia articles - why?

[edit]

Although this image can be injected into English wikipedia articles such as the article for the album called "The Works" by the Corrs, try as I might, the "Image" facility does not work for this image in the French version of Wikipedia. I have wondered if it was a glitch with the "Image" facility but it works for my own .png files. It looks like a restriction for this particular .jpg file. Why? For that matter none of the album covers can be shown for any of the Corr albums in French! How can the images of the album covers be restricted to only the English language? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.33.24.252 (talk) 05:28, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
